Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Grain Trader. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agricultural commodities, with a focus on grains (e.g., wheat, corn, soybeans, barley). You will be responsible for managing trading activities, developing new markets, building strong supplier and customer relationships, and maximizing profitability while managing risk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute grain trading strategies in domestic and/or international markets.
- Identify, negotiate, and close grain purchase and sales contracts with producers, exporters, importers, processors, and other trading houses.
- Monitor global market trends, supply and demand dynamics, weather, logistics, and macroeconomic indicators to assess trading opportunities and risks.
- Build and maintain a strong network of suppliers, customers, and logistics providers.
- Collaborate with risk management, logistics, finance, and operations teams to ensure smooth execution of trades.
- Analyze profit and loss (P&L) for trades and report performance regularly.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulations, and international trade laws.
- Mentor and support junior traders or trading assistants as needed.
Job Requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
-Minimum 5–7 years of experience in grain trading or commodity trading.
- Proven track record of successful grain trading, preferably in both physical and futures markets.
- In-depth knowledge of global grain markets, trading contracts, and international shipping/logistics.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, make quick decisions, and manage risk effectively.
- Proficiency in trading software, spreadsheets, and market analysis tools.
- Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.
