Job Title: Deputy Manager – Underwriting & Reinsurance
Location: Hanoi
Employment Type: Permanent
Reporting to: General Manager

Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced professional to support underwriting and reinsurance operations for commercial insurance lines. The successful candidate will play a vital role in risk assessment, facultative reinsurance placement, and coordination with internal stakeholders to ensure underwriting compliance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Evaluate and approve commercial risks based on underwriting guidelines and treaty terms within delegated authority.

Support the development and localization of underwriting practices, adopting global standards for local market use.

Coordinate with Reinsurance and other relevant departments for facultative reinsurance placement and treaty arrangements.

Work closely with the Marketing team to provide technical support on pre-underwriting and quotation preparation.

Monitor and control risk acceptance to ensure compliance with underwriting authority, guidelines, and treaty limits.

Prepare underwriting reports and statistics, and contribute to the development of internal underwriting manuals.

Supervise, coach, and guide junior staff in daily tasks and professional development.

Job Requirements

Required Experience & Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Underwriting or Reinsurance, preferably in property or casualty insurance.

Proven experience in risk assessment and pricing, including working with facultative reinsurance or treaty placements.

Strong understanding of non-life insurance products, contracts, funding structures, and risk evaluation methodologies.

Previous experience in team supervision or staff coaching is required.

Bachelor’s degree or higher (Insurance, Finance, Business or related field).

Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Preferred Skills
Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination ability.

Solid knowledge of local insurance market and regulatory environment.

Familiarity with international underwriting standards and treaty arrangements.
