Job Description
- Guide, mentor, and develop a cross-functional innovation team comprising engineers, analysts, and technicians.
- Create a strategic roadmap for automation that supports the factory’s long-term vision and productivity objectives.
- Manage pilot initiatives from initial concept through full-scale deployment, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence, and high quality.
- Define, track, and optimize key metrics such as automation effectiveness, return on investment (ROI), and workforce efficiency gains.
- Partner with leadership, QA, production, and finance teams to ensure alignment on priorities and budget allocation.
- Oversee supplier selection, conduct value and cost analyses, and evaluate post-implementation performance to drive continuous improvement.
Job Requirements
- Strong understanding of automation technologies, machine vision, robotics, and AI applications within manufacturing.
- In-depth knowledge of garment production processes, including cutting, sewing, finishing, inspection, and packing.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, key productivity metrics, and identification of common garment defects.
- Solid grasp of project management methodologies (Agile/Waterfall), budgeting practices, and resource planning.
- Proficient in analyzing cost-saving initiatives, calculating payback periods, and justifying investment decisions.
- Capable of empowering cross-disciplinary teams and making sound decisions in uncertain or dynamic situations.
- Highly skilled in managing daily workflows, timelines, and task prioritization across teams.
- Able to interpret machine data, KPIs, and financial metrics; experienced in building dashboards or performance reports.
- Adept at creating executive-level presentations and translating technical insights into actionable business strategies.
- Skilled in identifying root causes and implementing practical solutions, especially within pilot and test environments.
- Ability to define a future-focused automation and AI innovation strategy for the factory.
- Strong capacity to align diverse departments such as QA, production, maintenance, and finance around shared transformation goals.
- Lead organizational and behavioral change efforts to facilitate effective adoption of new technologies.
- Deliver high-impact projects on time, within scope, and within budget, ensuring tangible results.
- Foster a learning-oriented culture by assigning the right talent to the right tasks and nurturing team capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Automation, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related technical field.
- At least 4–6 years of progressive experience in industrial automation, including a minimum of 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role within a manufacturing setting.
- Prior experience working in apparel or garment manufacturing environments, including direct involvement in automation trials and continuous improvement projects.
